Shop Highlight: Northwest Handmade Goods

Last week I mentioned I was going to do a shop highlight on my blog, and I finally have a few moments to fill you in on this little treasure in Downtown Lewiston!

Northwest Handmade Good is exactly what it sounds like.  A store filled with Handmade Goods made by Northwest Artists.

They are located at 527 Main Street next to Ridinger's photography studio.

Here are a couple panoramics of the store!

Seriously adorable right?  Downtown Lewiston NEEDS business like this!

They have everything: Toys, clothing, home decor, jewelry, greeting cards! They even have a few of my items!! How fun is that!  Stop on in and let them know I sent ya!

Grocery Deals Link Up

As you can see I've gotten less ambitious on my grocery deal info.  There are a few reasons why.
1. We stopped getting the paper
2. I'm doing less couponing as I used too

I still would LOVE to coupon like I used to but to be honest, it's just plain hard for the stage of life we are in!  I typically end up going to Costco and Walmart and one quick stop at Rosauers, to get the stuff I can't find at either place, on a normal shopping week these days.

That being said, I still peruse the ads online and the couponing sites in case the deal of the century happens to be this week!!

Albertsons:

Safeway:

Rosauers: Actually are having a pretty great sale this week with lots of items 1/2 off!  Make sure to check their sale flier (linked above)

This week's Grocery Deals 4/18-4/24

Just got back from a great 3 nights away for a conference with my husband!  It was such a relaxing time.  I was most definitely ready to get back home to my sweet baby, but I am so glad we went.

Here are the grocery deal link ups for this week!  I haven't had much time to peruse the ads so I'm not leaving any commentary!  Sorry, my piles of laundry are calling my name!!

Albertsons - they are doing a promotion where they are rounding coupons up to $1!  This makes for some great freebies!  I'd encourage you to click through!

Safeway

Grocery Deals 4/11-4/17

Here are this weeks link ups!  I won't be doing much grocery shopping this week, which is great because I went a bit over budget last week!

Safeway: Pasta for 30 cents if you saved your ad circulars.

Albertsons: No link up yet! I'll come back and edit if I get a chance but you can always check the local couponing site for this one, they usually get it up by the end of the day!

Rosauers: Good price on Red Grapes (a bit cheaper than costco).  Grapefruit $.44/each.

Grocery Deals 4/4 - 4/9

I have to be honest with you all.  I have not been the best at couponing over the past few weeks.  I have made about two trips to rite aid in the past two months, and have not been  stockpiling with my albertson's double coupons.  HOWEVER, I have not gone over my grocery budget once!! I'm finding that there are other simple ways to save money at the store without couponing.  I don't think my savings are as big, but as long as I'm under budget I don't care!!

If you are looking to dive in to couponing there is a local class taking place this month.  I have not personally attended the local class but I know lots of people who have benefited from it.

Back to store deals

$1.69/lb of Happy Cow butter (after coupon on pkg) - this is cheaper than Costco.

$.99 for 5lb package of russet potatoes
$2.99 for a 3lb bag of organic Fuji apples
Ham & Eggs are also on sale, but they are on sale pretty much everywhere this week.

This Week's Grocery Deals and some Great Amazon.com food finds!

I am so excited that our very own Lewiston Couponing site is revamped and running again!  I love referring you to their deals because they are local and I don't have to worry about them not matching us completely!

Here is this week's Albertson's match up from the Lewiston Coupons Site! - good prices on sausage, canned soups and LOTS more!

Here is the Safeway matchups from Frugal Living NW! Make sure to double check these with our ad because they are not local, but I have experienced that they are almost exactly the same as our ads! - great price on seedless grapes (addy's fave)!

Rosauers - no matchs ups to be found online so here is my synopsis:
Boneless, Skinless chicken Breasts $1.99 (cheaper than costco)
Bryers Ice Cream (48oz) 2.99 each (good but not amazing deal)
Western Farms Hearth Bread $1.50/loaf
Gala Apples $.79/lb
Green Bell Peppers $.59/each

Also found some great Amazon food deals via amazon subscribe and save option.

Clif Kid ZBar, Variety Pack, Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Brownie, Honey Graham, 24 Count are only $13.59 with the subscribe and save, making the bars 57cents each!  Great Price for a good quality, organic kids snack!  Also - I really like these too, and they are lower calorie than a ginormous adult sized cliff bar!
JUST was alerted these are at costco too!  had no idea.  Might be cheaper there, I will check next time I'm there.

GoGo SqueeZ applepeach, Applesauce on the Go, 4-Count Box of 3.2-Ounce Pouches (Pack of 12) are only $23.97 with subscribe and save making the packs 50cents each!  We love these for in the car and to have one in the diaper bag for emergency snacks!  We don't use them daily because it's still cheaper to buy a jar, but for the convenience they are worth having on hand.  (these were how I survived a 7 hour road trip with the babe).

Thanks to Jungle Steals for the amazon heads up!

Safeway: Best price on Corn Beef in town from a brief look over of the ad!

Rosaurers: didn't have time to give a look at the ad - can you tell I've got a lot on my to do list this week??!  I did notice though that Saturday All Hucklberry's products will be 20% off - so if you frequent that area - better go stock up!!

My Grocery Budget this week

I mentioned in my weekly menu plan that I was hoping to cook with mostly stuff I have on hand to keep my costs super low this week.  Here's how I did:

I first went to Rosauers.  I always stop there on Wednesday to pick up some produce before the youth group dinner, so I always get a few sale items for myself on that quick trip.
8 Oranges - $2.55
2 Packages shredded cheese - $2.50 each
Rice Crackers from bulk - $.50 (I needed a snack)
Total with tax: $8.58

I went to Walmart Thursday morning by myself (oh how I love grocery shopping by myself), and grabbed the rest of what we needed to complete my menu.
Milk - $1.82
Cake Mix - $1
3 Dice Green Chili - $.72/can
tomato Paste - $.44
Cool Whip (store brand) - $.98
Cupcake Liners (48ct) - $1.14
Lemonade packet - $.12
1 lb dry Kidney Beans - $1.48
Cream Cheese $1.98
Bananas - $1.36
Marshmallow Cream - $1.00
Diced Tomatoes - $.68

Total (no tax in Washington) - $14.16

I also paid $1 and took home the extra salad from our youth group dinner so the grand total is:

Weekly Grocery total: $23.74

Not too bad, if I say so myself.  I bought more stuff at walmart such as baby proofing gear and onesies for Addy but those come out of a different category in our budget.

I also spent some time in Walmart walking through the aisles and taking photos of frequently used items and their price tags.  I want to make a list of prices of those items so I'm not confused by sale tags at grocery stores.  Sometimes I see a sale item and even though it is on sale at store A, often times it is still cheaper at Walmart if I buy store brand.

For the entire week there are good prices on:
-Western Farms Hearth Bread - $1.50
-Idaho Russet Potatoes - $.99/5lb bag
-Grapes $1.49/lb
-Asparagus $1.49/lb
-Oranges $.49/lb
