Kindle Covers and Story about My Kindle

So I am an Apple loyalist, but I cannot and will not allow myself to buy an iPad because of it's cost.  I have an iPhone which basically does everything an iPad does just on a small screen so even though we can buy one, I just don't want to.  I got my Kindle touch in December for Christmas and even though I loved reading on it, I cannot get rid of the itch for a tablet.

I was SOOOOO close to getting the Kindle Fire when I bought my touch but decided not too, and then I started kicking myself, so I decided that if I could sell my touch for very close to what I bought it for I would "upgrade" to the fire with my free Amazon cards that I had accumulated through Swagbucks.

I posted my Kindle, sold it in about 15 minutes and took that as a confirmation that I should just do it.  I only ended up paying $20 of my own "allowance" for the Fire so I felt I did pretty well!!

Well I needed a new cover because the Fire is a bit bigger than the touch.  So away I went creating my cover and once I had completed it, a friend from church saw it and wanted to buy one from me so I put together two Kindle covers this week!!

Mine is the one on the right, and I'm LOVING the one I made for my friend.  Plus each one I make I get so much better and putting them together!

When I first made mine I thought it was ridiculous to put a pocket in the inside cause really what would I use it for but now I get it!!

Perfect for storing the Kindle when putting in a bag to keep something from scratching the screen. When I'm home I just leave it in the elastics side but its nice to tuck it in the pocket if I'm throwing it in my purse.

So my review on the Fire: I really like it! It is not an Apple product though. It runs well and fast, but it's just not quite as simple as the iPhone or iPad. I do really like it and it does do what I wanted from the iPad which essentially is the larger screen. Amazon (droid) does not have all the same apps that I love on my iPhone, but it does have a bunch of them and the internet browser is AWESOME so even if I don't have a Pinterest App like on my phone, I can just go through the browser and it's just as good!

I'm glad I made the "upgrade" but it definately was not a necessity since I have the iPhone, but since it was only going to cost me $20 out of pocket I really couldn't lose. If you want an eReader only - go for the Kindle Touch , but if you want a tablet and can't (or don't want to) spring for the iPad the Fire is a good alternative.
