Pinterest has become oh so inspiring to me! I go in spurts of loving some sort of hobby. Whether it is sewing, baking, cake decorating, blogging, I just like to try new things to see if I can do them and as an addition to the daily routine that can sometimes feel like the movie Groundhog Day.
There are so many fun ideas I've been pinning that I have decided that for the seven weeks until Christmas I will tackle one Christmas Craft a week. This is going to be fun. It will probably also be funny, because I am not a professional crafter. Crafting is work for me! It is fun, but it is not easy. I have a variety of difficulties on my craft selection so we will see how it goes!
Here is my crafting lineup:
Week 1 (this week): Stockings
Week 2: Wreath
Week 3: Addy's First Christmas Ornament
Week 4: Advent Calendar/System
Week 5: Tree Skirt (this is my most ambitious task)
Week 6: Creative Gift Wraping
Week 7: Felt Decorative Trees
I will be posting my progress on these projects! Anyone want to join me??
That's awesome!! Geoff and I made stockings a few years ago and are making a wreath this year. Like the tree skirt idea! And what do you mean yOu are not crafty? We made some pretty great quilts in high school :)
ReplyDeleteWell I try to be crafty but I'm not like super crafty like you :) and yes our quilts were magnificent. Lets see if I have to rip my stocking apart several times so they are perfect. :)
ReplyDeleteTwo things. First, what tree skirt do you have in mind? I have one I am dying to make too. I have been talking about doing a tree skirt for years.
ReplyDeleteSecond, when it comes time for your creative wrapping, take a look at Pretty Handy Girl's blog from last December (http://www.prettyhandygirl.com/2010/12)
She did a great series on some incredible wrapping ideas; and her husband contributed one post of his own that was hilarious!
Happy crafting!
I'm planning on attempting amy butlers design (it's on my Christmas board. Sheesh I think i'm losing my mind with that attempt since I'm quite a novice.
