Family Photo Yearbooks!

So I  pinned the idea of making a family photo/year book each year of the photos we took.  I used to be a scrapbooker, but that ship has sailed and I honestly haven't done a real true scrapbook since our wedding one (almost 8 years ago).  I occasionally have done a digital photo book for a trip we took or a special occasion, but now that we have a kiddo in the mix it is time I get my act together.

You may have saw on my goal list to get started on our 2012 photo book, and much to my amazement I actually finished it!!  The trickiest part was organizing all my photos from the last year and selecting what was photo book worthy.

I went ahead and let Shutterfly make the simplest book for me and then I went and rearranged and added captioning.  I didn't do too much captioning or embellishing because, there were soooo many photos, but I intend to take some time each month to put together this years book so I can make it more personal.

The best part was when I finished my book I just let it sit in my Shutterfly account.  When I logged in yesterday I notice the book was 50% off!!  So my $100 book was only $50!!  I ordered it.

All that to say Shutterfly is having an awesome sale right now and if you spend $30 and use code SHIP30 you will also get free shipping.  Photo books are on a huge sale, and calendars, gifts, and personalized cards (think Valentine's day) are also on sale!  Make sure to shop before the end of today to get in on the free shipping, but the sale runs through Feb 1st, so you still have time to get a great deal!

I also must add putting together the book took about 1-2 hours and cost $50.  Do you know how long it would have taken me to scrapbook 65 pages of photos and not to mention how much I would have spent.  Ugh.  I'm so over scrapbooking.  Plus all my hard worked on scrapbooks and fading and falling apart (and I did use all the proper scrapbooking methods).

I plan on doing 2011 book in February and I think I will lump our "pre-child" days together in one big book from 2005-2010.  Which will mostly involve all of our wonderful travel escapades which will make me go into a slight bit of mourning for that time in our lives.  haha!
