Take Shape for Life Update - Week 1

Although my true "week" is over tomorrow, I wanted to post my updates on Tuesdays.  My coach calls me Tuesday nights to check in, so I want to be able to report my results to her when she calls!

The first few days of the program were somewhat rough, but that is too be expected... especially after starting on the day after vacation eating.  Honestly though, I was so excited to start I have had no problems with cheating or temptation thus far!  I even baked two pans of my FAVORITE dessert for a work project and the only thing I "snuck" was a bit of marshmallow fluff that accidentally got on my lip after I wiped my face with my arm.

The 5:1 plan is much easier than I expected.  I usually eat the meal replacements for breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, and evening snack.  It's usually just me and Addy during the day, and I always made Addy a different lunch than me anyways, so it's actually more convenient for me to NOT have to make myself lunch.

I also am only feeling hungry right about the time when it's time for my next meal.  I also find myself thinking about food way less than before.  I used to always have to tally calories and try and remember what I've already eaten before eating something . Now I just know what I can and will be eating all day.  I definitely prefer some meal replacements to the others, but that is normal.  That is why it is so great they have such a variety of foods.

Some of my favorites:
-The vanilla shake blended with coffee and ice instead of water! YUM!
-Mocha Shake
-Cinnamon Pretzel sticks
-Chicken Noodle Soup
-Smores Bars
-Cinnamon Sugar Cereal with some unsweetened almond milk

The great thing about the meal replacements is that each one has 20% of all of your vitamins and fiber grams needed in a day, so eating them assures that you get all the nutritional value that you need.  This is great because a lot of times when you cut your calories you are missing out on IMPORTANT things for your body, and it is NOT the case with this program.

So you ready for my 6 Day report?? I am down 9.6 pounds in 6 days. As with most plans weight loss is the greatest the first week, but I hope to hit 3 pounds each week following this week.  I feel I should also state that I am over 40 pounds down on my weight loss journey.  Super exciting!  Still have a ways to go, but I am proud of myself for consistently heading downward for the past couple of years (with a pregnancy thrown in the middle of the journey).

Please let me know if you have any questions about the program.  You can also head to my coach's page for more information or to contact her with any questions.  If you are serious about getting healthy for the long term this could be the perfect program for you.

I also should mention that the coaching is super encouraging!!  I'm not a phone person but I have enjoyed the encouragement and information my coach has been providing for me.  Knowing that she is going to call is also another form of accountability for me that really has helped.  She called the first four days for me to make it through the rough part, but now she will check in weekly with me.  It is a lot easier to stay on track knowing someone is checking in on me.

Off to eat my morning Medifast Mocha (hot chocolate meal replacement with coffee) :) Have a great day!
