Shopping Spree

So one of my many shopping sprees this week while Jon was gone involved dishes.  We never registered for nice dishes when we got married.  We started with some Target dishes, then moved to Ikea dishes when the Target dishes started breaking and looking awful.

I have a couple of friends who have FiestaWare, and recently it started to interest me.  I like the simple design and I love that I can just collect different colors and switch them out, but still be able to use all the pieces together.

Well Macy's currently has a sale on them, plus the most recent round of Star Rewards Coupons came out, PLUS I had a $160 credit on my Macy's card from a few returns and other random things.  All those things combined pushed me to bite the bullet and start purchasing!  I also cast out a request on Facebook to my friends for extra coupons that would not be used and ended up with  7 Coupons that were $10 off a $30 purchase.  So I did 8 different transaction and got a whole bunch of dishes for not very much!

I stressed out of the color combinations but here is what I landed on, and the logic behind it.  Scarlet, Lemongrass, Sunflower

I can use the Scarlet and Sunflower together for fall, scarlet and lemon grass for Christmas, Lemongrass and Sunflower for spring/summer.    I decided not to buy dish "sets" because I don't want the mugs and I like the gusto bowls (shown above) more than the standard bowls.  They are deeper and larger, and most of the time when we use soup bowls our soups are loaded with chips and goodies, so these seem to be more practical for us.

I also love the turquoise color.  Actually most of the colors are great, but those are my top four.  So what types of dishes do you guys have/love??  I was so excited about my deals and being able to use a credit that I already had to get my dish collection started almost for FREE!
