Vacation

I just wanted to post a little bit more of a snippet of our trip since it was so much fun!

I drove to Ellensburg on Tuesday and stayed Tuesday night there.  Addy was spoiled by my grandma with a big yummy dinner (mashed potatoes, meatloaf, bread, veggies), then she at almost an entire Drumstick ice cream cone.

We headed to our camp site on Wednesday.  We stayed in Long Beach, WA.  Our camp ground was within walking distance from the beach which was so nice.  We arrived, unpacked, then headed for the Ocean! I became very alarmed at the beginning of the trip when there were swarms of mosquitos. Like zillions people.  They were everywhere.  I got bit at least 15 times in the first 20 minutes.  I am not exaggerating.  The people around the area said they were especially bad this year because it has been so wet.  Bug spray was the first thing I put on after I got out of the shower each morning and my mom sprayed Raid all over our entire campsite, which helped.

I love the ocean.  We used to go every spring break with my aunt and cousins and grandparents when I was in school.  Now that we are all grown there is no such thing as spring break and I can't remember the last time we were all there together.  We all seem to make it there though, just in different groupings.

Addy loved walking all over the beach.  And my mom loved walking with her.

One day we went into town and walked through all the shops.  I found this shop to be quite interesting.  I guess in small towns you have to own several businesses in one to make them financially successful?  But still this combo is quite odd to me.  I went inside and yes there was fudge, espresso, scrapbooking supplies AND tanning beds.

I also got to take Addy on her first carousel ride.  She wasn't sure at first, as it went kinda fast, but then she loved it!  In fact, when it stopped and it was time to get off she started crying.

We enjoyed a picnic on the beach one day, which really became a sandstorm and our lunch became cheetos and anything that wouldn't get sand on it to badly.  It was fun though.  But most of our meals were at camp and Addy loves eating of course.

It was a super fun trip!  My mom, grandma, great aunt, and my mom's cousin and her husband were all with us. I would definitely do it again, but hope that Jon can make it next time!
