Welcome Home!

I have had a dilemma with my front step, stoop, whatever you want to call it.  It's not big enough to be a porch, but large enough to look boring without some sort of decor.

I have had a hard time finding a doormat that,
1. is the right size.
2. won't blow away when we have our random crazy wind storms here.
3. isn't super expensive.

I have found some large ones I love but they are around $30 which is ridiculous in my opinion.

I found this lovely tutorial on Pinterest and decided to put my husband to work!  The pinned photo on Pinterest painted each slat a different color which looked super fun, but just not my style.

When I was talking to Jon about making it I said I wanted it bigger than the tutorial.  He didn't hear me, but I decided it was fine.  My mom came over and loved it, so we gave it to her and he is going to make me a new, larger one.

We used the $1 furring strips at home depot instead of the suggested wood in the tutorial and just stained and sealed it.  Total cost of this doormat (which is VERY heavy I might add) was $8.
