This Week's Menu

If any of you saw my Facebook Status yesterday you would know that I've been trying to gather other ideas for breakfasts and lunches for my little family.  Before Addy we just fended for ourselves with toast, cereal or oatmeal, but now we are wanting to be a bit healthier and intentional with our eating for Addy.  So in an attempt to add some variety to her (and our) diet I will now be planning breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

These will not be amazing creative meals, but at least she will not be eating the exact same thing every single day, which is mostly what happens these days.

This will require some freezer cooking also because Jon tends to normally take care of breakfast, so they will need to be things friendly for him to put together as well.  (I do all my work-from-home stuff in the morning before he leaves for work).

Breakfasts:
scrambled eggs, applesauce (milk) (x2)
Baked Oatmeal (thinned out with some milk), applesauce (milk)(x2)
blueberry muffins, yogurt, applesauce (milk)
toast with p/b, banana (milk)
Green Monster Smoothie, toast with p/b

Lunches:
Thursday: cheese stick, crackers, grapes
Friday: Chicken, Rice, Freezer Veggies (using leftovers from the night before)
Saturday: Leftover Chinese chicken Curry (she loves this meal amazingly)
Sunday: Lunch Out
Monday: Quesadilla, grapes
Tuesday: Homemade Refried beans, rice, grapes
Wednesday: Deviled Egg, grapes, bread

Dinners:
Thursday: Yoshida Fajitas, salad (peas for Addy)
Friday: Crockpot Chinese Chicken Curry (moved from last week), green beans
Saturday: Salsa Corn Chowder (moved from last week), Italian breadsticks, salad
Sunday: Lunch Out - leftovers for dinner
Monday: Pulled Pork Sandwiches (moved from last week), salad
Tuesday: Buffalo Chicken Pizza (with baby eating non buffalo chicken :) )
Wednesday: Grilled Cheese, Homemade Chicken Noodle soup, Salad (youth group meal)

Wish me luck!  I'm exhausted just looking at this list.

  1. Thanks for the Green Monster Smoothie Recipe. We keep buying the bulk spinach at Costco and I've wanted to start making smoothies with it. I just need to buy some Greek yogurt; otherwise I have everything else for it. You've inspired me to get a little more deliberate in our breakfast choices for Kendry too. We usually let him decide on breakfast, but I know if I had some better choices he would eat healthier in the morning. Thanks!

  2. I came specifically to tell you THANKS FOR THE GREEN MONSTER SMOOTHIE RECIPE!! I am drinking one right now and am LOVING IT. I used almond butter instead of peanut butter and I think it's quite delicious. I want to have one every day-- and my girls think the green is super cool. So glad I checked out your menu for the week!

  3. A few months ago I decided to change up our breakfast routine. We used to always have cereal, but it wasn't filling and everyone was starving even after eating... I put out the call for new breakfast ideas and we've been trying new ideas for breakfast ever since. I have a list of ideas on my blog (although I have some new ideas now- guess I need to update!) Anyways, here's the list in case you need more inspiration :)
