Simple Menu. Simple Cake. Simple Guest List. Simple Gifts. Simple Decor.
Simple was the mantra as I planned Addison's birthday party.
I wanted it to be special, and I wanted her to know I put thought into it (when she saw photos), but I didn't want to go crazy overboard and stress myself out so I didn't even enjoy the preparations or the day itself.
I am amazed at how much preparation even a simple party plan took, but I loved every minute of it (well maybe not the three frustration filled hours of frosting the birthday cake).
This was the main table containing cakes, fruit, chips, punch, and cake pops. The kitchen bar (you can see the corner in the bottom left of the photo) is where we had our sandwich making supplies. I am loving how beautiful this table scape turned out!
The gift table had some balloons and a bunch of flowers from Costco. These were the "big ticket" items in the decor budget. All the banners were basically free with paper I had on hand already.
I had a backdrop planned for this wall, but when I arrived at my aunt's house she informed me that she had made this beautiful quilt for Addy. It was more perfect for my backdrop than my plan, so I just added my simple decor to the chair itself and it was wonderful!

Big thanks to everyone who came! It was special to have so much family there. Addy is so loved. Also thank you to my aunt & uncle for letting us use their home for the party, and for the set up help!
I love the photo garland! I am starting to plan Paige's graduation party and this would be a fun alternative to the traditional poster board of pictures! Very cute!
