The menu has returned! I took a small break from my menu planning because I didn't want to bore you with our sad little diet.
We are on somewhat of a cleanse/sugar detox. Not following a specific plan really just made our own rules which consist of the following:
To eat:
Lots of fresh/frozen fruits & veggies
Protein (egg whites, meat)
Some carbs (potatoes, "healthier" bread)
Not to eat:
Sweets
Sweet Drinks (soda, coffee creamer, fancy coffee, etc.)
Boxed snacks (crackers, cereal)
Limit:
Dairy
Carbs
Sauces/marinades - anything with Lots of sodium
We mostly are doing this because we ate horribly from thanksgiving till Christmas - and ate way to much fast food during the church relocation. ick. I also have been craving sugar 24/7 so this is an attempt to lessen the cravings - which has been working. We are on day 6!
So here is our menu - but to be honesty it's pretty plain jane - but healthy!!
Chicken/vegetable stir fry over a small amount of rice.
Night out with my husbands staff for our New Years Party (we didn't have a Christmas get together)
Hearty Hamburger tomato stew
Grilled chicken and big green salad
Grilled Shrimp and big green salad
Ranger dinners (meat, veggies potato in foil and grilled for 30 min)
Dinner at youth group - spaghetti & meat sauce - not sure how to do this healthy but we will eat small portions! :)
