I may or may not keep up a tradition of writing a bit of a personal post on Sunday's. Don't you love my fear of commitment??
Our week was a pretty packed one filled with some celebrations and some exhaustion!
- We had our second week of youth ministry meetings since the beginning of the year. I have taken somewhat of a 9 month "break" from my ministry roles since Addy joined our sweet family, so it has been good to jump back in, in a new role, and in the new church building. I am in charge of a simple meal that we sell for $3 a person in between the Jr. High and High School youth meetings. It offers convenience for busy families, but also a lot more time for fellowship and connecting with one another. I'm having fun with this new role, but it has definately been keeping me busy as I am forming our "helper" team so I'm not doing all the work myself, which is kind of hard to do carrying a 10 month old!
- Addy started clapping this week!! Hooray! It's pretty stinking cute!
- I had a total downer day on Thursday. Not sure what was up with me. I was so tired and cranky that I sent myself to naptime, which helped quite a bit.
- I am currently reading Randy Alcorn's book Money, Possessions, and Eternity. Such a great and challenging book. You will be confronted and dissagree with parts I'm sure of it! But I love that it is challening the the way we are with our finances. I've been reading it for a month or so (it takes me a while to get through a book) and just this week we sat down and resituated our personal budget to be less "us" focused and more "others" focused!! It was a great feeling although very difficult.
- We are completing our cleanse today. It's been fun... not really. But I will have you know that I bought my "usual" and Dutch Bros. and had to throw half of it away because it was so sweet that it made me sick. I'd say that's a pretty sucessful cleanse!
-Went to a baby shower for a former youth group girl. So great to celebrate life with others. Showers are so different now that I'm on the other end of motherhood - in the BEST way!! Had a great time seeing some other former youth, and reconnecting.
- I'm drowning in another sewing project currently for another shower gift for next weekend. Can't wait to post it!! But have to wait till I give the gift of course.
- Jon and I have diligently been faithful to our date nights (another new year goal). One date night a week at home after Addy is in bed, and one a month out of the house. We have our sitter lined up for next Saturday's away date, and I'm super excited!
Blessings to you this week!
I like you Cassie Coats and I miss you too :) Love hearing all the goings on!
